Feng Shui In NJ Welcomes You

FENG SHUI TAKES TO THE ROAD

By Victoria Pendragon

So, you’re very persnickety about your Feng Shui, are you? Bathroom doors all shut; crystals in the window; good luck frog pointed towards the door? And how’s your automobile doing? “My automobile,” you query? “My automobile? Why, it’s just fine. Just got the tank filled; air pressure’s great; just got the oil changed.”

Well, all that’s nice but what’s it like on the inside? Yes, on the inside. You know, the place where you spend all your time? The inside. Where is the wrapper from that sandwich you ate last week while you were on your way, late, to the big meeting? Not tucked under the seat, is it? Not tossed casually on the floor behind the driver’s seat? That would never happen, would it? Well….

It’s not easy in the car. We’re usually using the car to go somewhere, so much so that we can forget that part of the time we spend living in an environment is spent living in the environment of our automobile. The inside of our automobile ought to be cared for every bit as well as the inside of our home or office for it, too, affects the way we approach life. Think for a moment about the difference between climbing out of a wastebasket and walking out of a living room. That’s the difference between leaving a cluttered, battered, bent, ripped auto and stepping out of a tidy, well tended to vehicle. Your state of mind will be affected.

Now, all this is not to say that your vehicle needs to be the latest model. It needn’t be. What it needs to be is clean and cared for. An older car can be every bit as Feng Shui ready as a newer one. Old houses don’t suffer from their age if they’re well cared for and neither do older cars. Make sure that dings and dents are repaired as soon as possible. Every time your subconscious sees that scraped paint it’s reminded, subliminally, of just how the paint got scraped and that can only affect you badly. The same goes for cracked windows.

If your car has four doors, make sure they all work, likewise for automatic windows. And make a plan for your trash. We all generate trash of some sort or another while we’re driving. So have a bag or basket or box handy and make sure to empty it on a regular basis. If you’re the sort, as I am, who gets a lot of work done in the car, organize a ‘desktop’ for the passenger seat. A large plastic box can be neatly subdivided into sections using smaller boxes to hold pens, pencils, notebooks, tapes, CDs, etc. Some high-end catalogues sell ready made car desks that even sport a place for your cell phone, (not that I recommend making calls while you’re driving!).

A parting word about the use of Austrian crystals as a decorative device for the rear view mirror. An Austrian cut crystal in a large, open window can spin out a lot of energy! If you tend to be on the non-energetic side, an Austrian crystal in the windshield might be just the thing for you. But if you are a high energy type, type A personality, or an energy healer beware! I burned out two electrical systems and mystified teams of mechanics before I figured out what was happening over the dashboard of my car. Now I travel with a rather large rock on the rear floor…much more grounding and I haven’t lost an electrical system since! I also use a ‘smog buster’ on the dash to cut electromagnetic energies reaching my body.

So don’t forget about your automobile. You may not live in it all the time but you do live in it some of the time and it deserves some attention.
